Painting and printmaking are a meditation for me. As I closely observe each "jewel" of nature, I feel grateful for its beauty and individuality. All creation becomes a gift bestowed when I take the time to see. As Andrew Wyeth said, "I want to get down to the real substance of life itself. The object is the art, not what I make of it." By slowing my pace and creating inner peace I experience the fine details of the world's precious offerings found all around me. Through my art, I strive to communicate that peace. Ultimately, what motivates me as an artist is to bring attention to the treasures of this vulnerable and fragile home we call Earth.
